CODE installed a groundwater treatment system at the Plaza Materials Site in Mt. Vernon, NY to remediate TPH-, kerosene, and gasoline contaminated groundwatera in a tidal influenced area of the Cowans Canal.

The system required the installation of two PVC and one stainless steel recovery wells; 400 lf of piping; and the set-up of a trailer-mounted treatment system including all tanks, piping, and process equipment. CODE handled all of the electrical and mechanical work in-house.

The impacted zone covered an area of over five acres. To date, CODE has recovered over 48,000 gallons of product and shipped this material off-site for proper disposal.

The installation and construction phases of the project were completed on an aggressive schedule and under budget. Continuing monthly O&M was performed at the client’s site. O&M consisted of maintaining the two 500# carbon units as well as the product recovery pumps, compressors, and all of the system’s electrical components.
